You have voted and Asia’s Top 50 Apps have been chosen. Now we are selecting the Top 10. Unlike the top 50 apps, which were put to the vote, the Top 10 will be selected on merit by a panel of judges.
The three main judging criteria will be: Technology Innovation, Business Innovation and Design Innovation.
A group of prominent investors, entrepreneurs and industry professionals active in the regional tech scene are helping us select the Top 10. Here they are:
Dr. Wong Poh Kam: Dr. Poh Kam is the director of NUS Entrepreneurship Center and associate professor in NUS Business School. He is the founding chairman of Business Angels Network South-East Asia (BANSEA). He is a prominent angel investor, and has invested in early stage technology startups including Invantest, iWow, TenCube and GlobalRoam.
Meng Weng Wong: Meng Wong is a serial entrepreneur and angel investor. His two previous ventures, pobox.com and karmasphere.com, explored the email security industry and developed reputation systems for the Internet. He is an expert on email authentication and Internet reputation systems. He currently holds the position of VP strategic development at BoxSentry. Meng is an active angel investor and a member of the board of directors of the Business Angel Network of South-East Asia.
James Chan: James is a investment manager at Neoteny Labs, a hybrid incubator founded by Joichi Ito, that combines an early-stage venture fund with hands-on mentorship and incubation for portfolio companies. Prior to that, James was a member of the investment team at Walden International Singapore managing Seed Ventures IV Pte Ltd (S4). He was also part of Infocomm Investments(IIPL) that managed assets in excess of US$200 million.
Jeffrey Paine: Jeffrey Paine is the founder of Battle Ventures – a venture advisory and investment company based in Singapore. Prior to that, he co-founded Generation Origin, a venture advisory firm based in Palo Alto. He currently sits on the board of Endeavor Capital Partners Pte Ltd, Rediffusion Pte Ltd, TheMobileGamer Pte Ltd, and the organizing committee of the Zayed International Humanitarian Award in Abu Dhabi.
Jupe Tan: Jupe Tan is the VP of International Relations at Plug and Play Center. Plug and Play Tech Center is a community of over 250 high tech startup companies across 3 centers in the areas of consumer internet, software, mobile, wireless, gaming, social media and other verticals based in Silicon Valley.
Benjamin Soh: Benjamin Soh, Director International Group. Prior to that, he was the head of Singtel Group Operations.
The Top 10 apps will receive:
