Dave McClure wrote an interesting article recently on TechCrunch, he challenged all female investors and women in tech to come forward and be more actively involved in supporting and encouraging female entrepreneurs to startup.
With more female entrepreneurs support group started by the various communities around the world, is this the rise of Women 2.0?
Well, some trends certainly seem to suggest that we are moving towards that direction.
On the 28th of August, Girls in Tech Singapore will host an event for women entrepreneurs, seasoned and aspiring alike, to network with each other, as well as with investors. If you are a woman with a business idea, you are invited to send in your two page business plan or executive summary to sucheta@girlsintech.net. Selected applicants will get an opportunity to present their business plans to a panel consist of angel investors, incubators and venture capitalists.
The panel includes Frank Levinson, Managing Director of Small World Ventures, Monica Tsai, Director Investments of SingTel Innov8, Shirley Wong, Managing Partner of TNF Ventures, Tong Gu, Advisor of Ruvento Asset Management, and Pierre Hennes, Managing Partner of Extream Ventures. Each presenting applicant will receive valuable feedback on their pitches, and the opportunity to explore funding for their ideas.
