Sparxup’s 2012 tech conference in Indonesia will highlight the opportunities arising from the growing technology market in the country. With a population of more than 250 million, Indonesia can be the next big thing in the technology market. To illustrate this market’s potential, it is Facebook’s fourth biggest market and Twitter’s third largest. As such, the spotlight is on Indonesia, drawing lots of attention from global tech companies trying to seize an opportunity in the country. Analysts are looking at growing opportunities for investment in the country. As a result, the people behind Sparxup 2012 have decided to hold the conference in Indonesia.
Chairman Rama Mamuaya said wants to bridge the geographical and knowledge gap. “We want to bring great speakers both international and also local speakers to fill in the knowledge gap between two sets of people in the industry. We believe that once this gap is filled, it would boost the tech industry even more,” he said. Everyone couldn’t agree more.
Teruhide Sato, Group CEO Netprice Japan commented on the opportunities in the country.
“At every domain of Internet business, such as marketplace, payment, comparison, B2C, online AD, affiliate, community, O2O, games, etc, we will see the similar or even bigger business opportunity in this country for next 5 years with its huge population at young generation and large number of the middle class. I think the best way to create internet business in this country now is to deploy those ‘proven’ business models with the latest technologies and methods, like open source, cloud, agile development, mobile at lower cost and build locally, support locally and be led by the local passionate and innovative entrepreneurs.”
Sato will be doing a keynote presentation at Sparxup 2012 conference, talking about market expansion to emerging markets especially Indonesia.
Another conference speaker and sponsor is Matt Barrie, an entrepreneur who runs Freelancer.com, one of the biggest sites for freelancers. The site won in the 15th Annual Webby Awards as the Best Employment Site of the Year.
Aside from keynote speakers, Sparxup 2012 will host local entrepreneurs with immense knowledge on the local market. A local speaker, Bandung-based entrepreneur Reza Prabowo, will be talking about the potential tech market outside of Jakarta.
