Indonesia-based mobile marketing startup Stilomo launches an Android app to help merchants increase brand awareness through social media.Shortly after we reported that the mobile loyalty space is heating up in Indonesia with newcomer Pouch, another similar app has just launched. Stilomo is an app that allows you to earn discounts and perks by sharing marketing messages by merchants onto your social media channels.
Stilomo is a graduate from the first batch of Jakarta’s Founders Institute. The accelerator program is run by Andy Zain, who also recently joined mig33 as a executive director. Stilomo aims to be different from other social marketing solutions in the market. Aside from providing online awareness, they also aim to help F&B merchants amplify their social media impact and motivate prospective customers to come and try their products. Stilomo claims to be offering “the simplest way to get the latest F&B promo since the customers only need to share some message promoting the selected F&B merchants to their social media to get their perks.
Founded by Stanley Octavian, Rebecca Agiestha and Nicholas Yudha, the team of three believe social media is the most effective way for businesses to create awareness and recognition, since social media is usually an entry point for information among connected individuals. They have already signed up a few F&B merchants all across Jakarta, such as Old Town White Coffee, OMO! Chicken, Ochado, and BLD (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
So the question still remains: will it work? According to SocialBakers, Facebook has an impressive 167.16% penetration of Indonesia’s online population. It also has over 50.4 million Facebook users, making it the fourth most populous country on Facebook. With the right strategy, Stilomo might just be able to come out on top of its competitors as it leverages helping merchants reach out to customers through the social media channel.
