Startup Weekend coming to Davao this November

Startup Weekend is coming to Davao City once again. Startup founders, developers, techies and investors are invited.

Startup Weekend has come and gone in Manila, and the event series is once again going to the south. On November 9 to 11, Davao will be hosting this startup event, again mirroring the basic premise. Startup Weekend will be a 54-hour event in which participants can pitch their startup ideas and get feedback from peers and mentors.

But of course, among the more important aspects of Startup Weekend is the networking. Here, you can find other like-minded teams and individuals who may just end up being co-founders and even investors in your startup. Startup Weekend Davao will also be graced by big names in the technology industry and startup scene, who will be judges and mentors.

Startup Weekend in Davao will be facilitated by Zachary Cohn, bootcamp director and hacker relations at Startup Weekend. Judges will include Minette Navarette of Kickstart Ventures, Aileen Apolo-de Jesus of Google, and Jay Fajardo of Proudcloud.

A startup event will not be complete without mentors. For Startup Weekend Davao, mentors include Bert Barraga of ICT Davao, Christian Besler of Kickstart Ventures, Tina Amper of TechTalksph, David Overton of Sym.ph, Wesley Chiongbian of Mynimo.com, Franky Branckaute of theBobbery.com, Mark Buenconsejo of Caresharing, John Naranjo of Ingenuity, George Tujan of Neuraltech Innovations, Marc Gil Medina of Lightweight Solutions, Ray Rubio of CubePixels, and Christopher John Cubos of Philippine Global Outsourcing.
