StartupDating, which began as a dating event for entrepreneurs, has rebranded itself into a media organization. Brings on board Rick Martin as Editor-in-Chief.Updates: Rick Martin has reached out to us to clarify that he is currently transitioning from TechinAsia to StartupDating.
Starting out as a matchmaking platform for entrepreneurs, StartupDating today announced its rebrand as it moves into a media role. Together with a new logo, StartupDating also introduced its new slogan “Change The Game!” . The announcement was made on a blog post by co-founder Kigoyama.
StartupDating has had partnerships with about eight tech media in over six countries in Asia and North America to translate and share relevant content with the Japanese community. With the rebrand, StartupDating also announced that its English site, startup-dating.com, which will be coming soon.
With the opening of the English site, StartupDating will see Rick Martin join the team as Editor-in-Chief. Rick Martin has previously worked with CNET Asia as a freelance contributor. He is currently an editor at TechinAsia, an online technology media startup based in Asia that recently raised its second round of financing from Russian investors Simile Venture. It seems that Rick will be holding on to both roles for now.
