Deezer is a French web-based music streaming service that allows users to listen to music on various devices online or offline. The company has announced its launch in 22 new countries, which include Brazil, South Korea, Taiwan and United Arab Emirates. Now, Deezer’s music is available to everyone regardless of geographical constraints and music distribution networks. The service has more than 20 million tracks available at the click of a button, accessible across various devices, including smartphones, laptops, tablets and wireless Hi-Fi speakers.
According to Deezer CEO Axel Dauchez, the company is thrilled to be able to make music more accessible to people especially to the most remote corners of the world. The evolution of digital dynamism in Africa, Asia and the Middle East offers many opportunities for this service.
As digital infrastructure improves, Deezer offers a powerful platform in helping bands, artists and labels get paid fairly for their work. Interestingly, Deezer is the first music streaming site in the Middle East, while at the same time delivering local content and editorial in Arabic. With the expansion into these 22 new countries, Deezer is now present in 182 countries around the world, highlighting its position as a truly global music subscription service.
Deezer is available in each of the new countries as a standalone service, with locally relevant content and features to be rolled out in the near future. Apart from the above-mentioned countries, Deezer has also launched in Algeria, Bahrain, Brazil, Egypt, Hong Kong, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman and Pakistan. With an international partnership with Facebook and strategic telecoms partnerships Orange, Everything Everywhere and Telenor, amongst others, Deezer is committed to bringing music to new audiences worldwide.
