Amazon launches Kindle Cloud Reader service in India

Amazon has launched the Kindle Cloud Reader, a free Kindle reading app that enables customers to read books instantly using only their web browser, in India. With it, one can read books online or offline, with no download or installation required.
The solution automatically synchronises the Kindle library, as well as the last page read, bookmarks, notes, and highlights for all of the books.
It is available for customers in India starting today on all common desktop browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer.
“Kindle Cloud Reader is another big step in our ‘Buy Once, Read Everywhere’ mission,” said Amit Agarwal, VP and country Manager, Amazon India, “With Kindle Cloud Reader, you can truly start reading instantly—no download or installation. We think customers in India are going to love this new Kindle app.”
With the Cloud Reader, a reader’s current book is automatically made available for offline use.
It receives automatic feature and software updates without the need to download new software.
