Last Wednesday saw the conclusion of the 5th France Singapore ICT Awards, held at The Arts House, Singapore. Organised by UBIFRANCE and the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS), it attracted over 130 IT professionals globally. The event was held in conjunction with CommunicAsia and BroadcastAsia 2014, with more than 35 French companies showcasing their latest technologies and innovations.
According to FCCS, the goal of the Awards is to promote innovative digital technologies and solutions. The event saw both Southeast Asian and French players share their know-how and experiences, with 17 French and Singaporean companies applying in five different Award Categories. Candidates focussed mainly on OTT content delivery, multiscreen experience, catch-up TV, mobility, data mining, security, and video solutions.
The 18 applications were submitted to a jury panel, which comprised representatives from both the French and Singapore governments, as well as from large telco and broadcast operators. Among the jury members were CEO of IDA International Vincent Wong, French Conseil Superieur de l’Audiovisuel (CSA) member Franck Lebeugle, as well as e27’s very own editor, Surender Dhaleta.
Below are the winners of the France Singapore ICT Awards 2014, in each of the five award categories.
Hexaglobe for the Most Innovative Broadcast Solution
ATEME for the Greatest Potential in Asia
Nanoveu for the Most Innovative Consumer Solution
Thomson Video Networks for the Special Award in 2013: Best Singaporean and French Partnership

Our soon to come introduction on the Euronext stock exchange market will enable us to transform this technical leadership in accelerated growth and increased market share.
Alfred Chong, CEO, Nanoveu:
We are honoured and delighted to receive the France Singapore ICT Award for the Most Innovative Consumer Solution for our EyeFly3D screen protector. It recognises the passion and dedication of our team at Nanoveu, and strengthens our confidence and commitment to seek new opportunities in Europe. We especially look forward to forming deep and lasting partnerships with companies in France, which we consider an exemplar of design and innovation.
Tony Berthaud, Director, Sales and Services, APAC, Thomson Video Networks:
We are delighted to receive this ICT award. It is a fantastic recognition of the collaboration between our two companies, which has contributed to the development of Thomson Video Networks in Asia Pacific and to the establishment of a strong organisation with six regional offices. We have been working together for the past 10 years and have seen success in a number of market segments such as satellite, broadcast and cable, as well as in newer markets such as WebTV.
More recently, Thomson Video Networks and Ideal Systems have extended their cooperation with the integration of two new technologies to deliver a unique hybrid MPEG/baseband play out solution. This shows what French high tech companies can achieve when they work closely with their Singaporean partners and customers: gaining a good understanding of local requirements and providing the perfect solution to match the expectations of the region.
