TradeGecko, one of the startups that graduated from the first batch of the JFDI bootcamp in Singapore earlier this year, has just sprung out of its closed beta.
You might recall that TradeGecko is a B2B web-based service providing supply chain management for independent brands and their retailers. With TradeGecko, users can do tasks such as creating invoices, sales orders, generating sales reports and sending shipping documentation. According to SGEntrepreneurs, in the near future, the service will feature integration with Shopify and Xero. E-commerce integration and sales analytics are coming soon.
Since graduating from JFDI, they have been working on their product which is now available to the public. When asked to share what have they been up to, cofounder Cameron Priest shared that they have been working day and night.
“What have we been up to since graduating? Working furiously to get the product to a point where our customers absolutely love using it (I’d like to say we’re close but we’re still iterating daily!). We’ve hired two additional team members, that takes us to five, looking to hire more soon!”
TradeGecko generates revenue from a tiered subscription model. When asked about funding, Cameron declined to reveal further.
“All I can share about the funding is that we will wait for NRF in-principle approval before we announce anything.”

“The timing is right. SaaS applications for business are on a very healthy incline and it’s only in the last few years, with the latest development technologies, that complex business systems can be build in a cost effective way.”
Who uses TradeGecko?
Importers, distributors, wholesalers, manufacturers and designer-makers. They all need a solution to manage their administration and no one knows this better than TradeGecko co-founder Carl Thompson.
“Running my clothing label was exciting and I enjoyed it a lot. But we grew very fast and the amount of administration quickly overwhelmed us.” says Thompson
“I couldn’t find a solution to pull it all together. Spreadsheets and manual data processing turned into an absolute nightmare.”
