Gaming 101 EP#01: Who has got free-to-play right?

In this first of e27’s gaming video series, we throw light on games that handle the freemium payment model in a fair and non-aggravating manner

Video games are big and there is no doubt about it. Whether it’s on console or mobile or PC, the hobby has already ingrained itself into mainstream. It’s also a lucrative business for startups and business investors to get into.

Unfortunately, there isn’t enough content that can give a quick five to eight-minute summary on certain aspects of gaming, like why first-person shooters are the current trend of this generation, the meaning of MOBAs, and the appeal of a big-nosed human mascot representing a Japanese game-making company. e27 is here to help with this video series, which has been created to educate both non-gamers and gamers.

Our debut episode above is about free-to-play, a payment model that’s familiar to anyone who has a mobile phone and a PC to play games on. This episode features the top three games that are not only fun, but also handle the freemium model fairly without coming off as money-grubbing. Enjoy!

Stay tuned as we have more videos in this series. Do subscribe to e27’s YouTube channel to see more videos on startups, business insider scoops, mobile and gaming.
