One of Asia’s biggest online gaming platforms is planning on branching out beyond its twitch-heavy digital entertainment comfort zone.

Garena, the Southeast Asia publishers for MOBA giant League of Legends and F2P action RPG wonder Path of Exile will be opening up a new division called Garena Venture. Tailored for Southeast Asia and Taiwan, this new arm aims to make investments in mobile and internet businesses across the region. It plans to deploy eight-figure investments per year to any startups that is deemed interesting to the division.

At this point in time, the company is hiring an Investment Associate and Investment Manager for the branch. The job description entails that the person will work directly with Garena’s senior management and report to the Head of Mobile Business to scout and evaluate potential investment opportunities and startups. The position also expects applicants to be familiar with the region’s startup eco-system and be present in major events related to the scene.

Interested applicants can check out the career page here.
