Trying to address brand owners and advertiser’s concerns on Twitter’s unavailability in providing self-service advertising features was the key factor that drove Eddy Yansen and Rade Tampubolon to launch SociaBuzz on March 30th.
The platform will make self-service advertising and coordination between buzzers easier. “Just like Facebook, Twitter will never release an advertising feature that lets them promote something through our Twitter accounts. They might offer promoted ‘Trending Topics’ and promote tweets but the impact will be different. An advertising message that is posted through personal or public accounts is more influential rather than through the brand owner’s account,” says Rade, who had worked with Eddy for a while before deciding to start the service together in September last year.
The team of three will help advertisers to identify suitable influencers based on their segmented market or targeted users and propose the content in order to attain more traction, engagement, and moreover efficient promotional activities.
With regards to advertising expenses, number of buzzers and price per buzz are the determinant factors. Only Twitter account owners with at least one thousand followers is permitted to sign up. Nonetheless, whenever a buzzer registers, the engine will suggest half of number of followers as the price per buzz. And SociaBuzz is entitled to have 30 percent of the total revenue gained by each buzzer.
A bootstrapper that is currently looking for funding from venture capitalists, SociaBuzz has managed to attract 424 buzzers and 22 advertisers ranging from individuals, agencies, marketers and business owners. Esia, Bajaj, Tango Waffle, Oops Wafer, Osalon, Sewakost, Travelkota and Digi.co.id are identified as subscribers of the platform that claimed to have reached 30 million exposures by far.
Besides aforementioned brands, numerous advertisers that have their presence there are Prnik, Freiys Shop, Afif’s Ocean 7 Store and AksesorisBunga promoting their online shops while @mandorcinta, @sahabat_cewek and @hitmansystem upholds their Twitter accounts.
“We are expecting more than 600 buzzers joining SociaBuzz at the end of this year,” Rade continues. In order to make the site more convenient for both buzzers, advertisers and digital agencies (which is the primary target), as well as to get entities join in the service, such features like notification via direct messages, referral program and customized advertiser dashboard are already in their To-Do list for the upcoming months. Let’s see how it goes and rolls out.
