Animated stickers now on LINE

Finally, LINE has introduced animated stickers! But surprise, surprise, these stickers cost money

For the longest time, users of Japanese chat app LINE had to watch from afar as friends on WeChat and KakaoTalk had conversations with animated stickers.

Last week, LINE announced the latest version of its Sticker Shop (4.4.0) with the launch of animated stickers. At the moment, there is only one pack of 24 animated stickers available, priced at JPY 200 (about US$1.96) or 100 LINE Coins.

Once sent, these stickers will play automatically on the chat platform. Users can click on the sent sticker to replay the animation.

Users with LINE versions lower than 4.4.0 will see animated stickers as traditional, static stickers.
