It’s just alright. They expect you to carry whatever idea you concoct during the competition to fruition within the next 2 years if you are a winner. Oh, they get 20% equity too. Equity taken is more further if you quality. Need to work while sustaining the business? Sorry, you’re out, unless you have money to burn while they advise you on pitching to get more funding. Operation-wise, the knowledge offered is minimal.

That is just a lie. I was a participant as well and in fact one of the winners – and even though we was top 2 we still changed the idea after the event and am very successful. Equity is not taken unless you enter the incubator (just like any other incubator). They don’t want you to spend your own money, in fact they provide you with a marketing budget so you don’t have to pay anything yourself. Get your facts right…

Of course you can opt out. Like I said, that’s expected of you when you follow through with them. You say you don’t need to pay ‘anything’ despite the budget being only meant for ‘marketing’. Plus, the emphasis on funding/pitching is prevalent, more so ever than the operational aspect of a business. Those are true, aren’t they? I’m just giving an honest opinion of what people can expect from this course.
