Apple sees its Mac OS X Mountain Lion update hit three million downloads in four days, making it the most successful release in history.
After just four days since the release of the latest Mac OS X, Mountain Lion, Apple has reported that it has seen over three million downloads. The widespread acceptance has prompted Apple to herald Mountain Lion as the most successful OS X release in Apple’s history. Of course, this could not have been done without the existence of the Mac App Store. By providing the Mac App Store, Apple has created a distribution channel that sits within each existing Mac user’s personal computer.
According to the press release, the upcoming software update for Mountain Lion will contain the much awaited Facebook integration. With Twitter already integrated into the Mac OS, and Facebook on it’s way, could the Mac OS be the most social operating system in the market by far? Microsoft has also moving in the social direction with it’s touch-ready and social Microsoft Office 2013. Are users ready for more social integration?
