What a charmer. Spotify, an unlimited music service, has just partnered up with Maxis, a Malaysian telco, to offer the latter’s customers a premium account at only MYR 10 a month and an additional 150MB Internet data package. That’s a MYR 4.90 discount.
The Sweden-based music service had launched its offerings in Malaysia in April, along with Singapore and Hong Kong. Users can either access music catalogues for free or pay a fixed subscription fee every month to enjoy certain privileges like ad-free music and mobile storage.
Maxis subscribers who choose to take up the offer will have to commit themselves for a minimum of three months. For the first three months, users will have to pay an upfront amount of MYR 30, and for subsequent months, MYR 10 each.
There is also a catch for the 150 MB data. Users will only enjoy the additional data package for the first three months of signing up.
For existing Spotify Premium users, they will have to cancel their subscriptions and activate the discounted package. The promotion is available to both Maxis Postpaid and Hotlink subscribers, and will end 28 February 2014.
