Must have apps on Facebook Timeline

By

Apps have since played a stronger role since the launch of the new Facebook Timeline. While some of us are still getting used to the new look, these apps are helping users express themselves on the new super stalker-friendly interface.

With the help of our friends, here are some top Facebook Timeline apps that we recommend, especially for Singapore users.
Foodspotting

You know you are Asian if you list “makan”, or eating, at your hobby. Whether it’s finding the best chili crab or that awesome chicken rice, which I know a lot of our Japanese friends go for when they are here, Foodspotting is a visual guide to good food and where to find it. Bookmark foods for future “jalan-jalan cari makan”, food hunt, trips with the “Want it!” feature or vote them up with “Nom it!”.

Tripadvisor

TripAdvisor’s Timeline-enabled “Cities I’ve Visited” app allows users to pin destinations that they’ve traveled on their virtual travel map and display them with other travel stats on their timeline. Share past trips and also receive advice on upcoming trips to discover new places to visits from your friends and over 20 million travelers who have pinned more than 1.5 billion cities to their maps.

Earbits

Can’t get Spotify in Singapore? Fret not, Earits is an online radio app featuring music with no commercials or ads. Discover new music by broadcast artists that Earbits work with directly and share what you are listening with your friends on Timeline.

Pinterest

Don’t get me started on this new rage. For those who aren’t on this yet, it’s about time you stop getting a life and start focusing on building your virtual pinboard, just kidding. Using Pinterest, collect visual inspirations from around the web and pin it to any number of different boards you’ve created. The Facebook app allows you to share your pins directly on your timeline.

Lyst

If you know e27, you’ll know our events guy, Gabriel, is a sucker for fashion. So here’s something for the fashionista out there. Lyst lets users follow designers they love and as well as other fashion fans to dig up some great fashion finds. User can “Lyst” items that will appear in their feed to create their own pages filled with clothes, shoes and accessories. The Facebook app will share the latest “Lysted” items on the timeline and also allow people to browse through your entire Lyst anthology.

Joash Wee

Joash Wee

Joash is passionate about tech startups and building the technopreneur community. While completing his undergraduate business degree, he decided to take a programming class just for kicks. Fortunately for him, he managed to scrap a pass and it now helps him get by with the geek talk. When he is not discussing about startups or the latest technologies, you can find him reading off his Kindle or taking photos with silver halide salts, old school.

big fan of gogobot. That’s another fun one for timeline that isn’t on your list.

Cool recommendation. Was looking at it too but decided on TripAdvisor for the travel app category instead. Maybe next time if we do another post looking at cool Facebook apps.
