Ookbee announced today that it has just signed a deal with Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), the leading media organisation in Singapore. Fresh out of sealing the deal, CEO Moo Natavudh, mentioned that the partnership will see SPH’s over 100 magazine titles being made available on Ookbee. The Thai company will also be involved in producing an exclusive SPH newsstand app.
The partnership will first see 31 SPH magazine titles being made available on Ookbee in February and over 40 titles by March. This partnership also includes SPH’s subsidiaries in the region. The partnership will see Ookbee using its revenue share business model with SPH.
Speaking to Moo in a call, he said, “With this partnership, we plan to set up a branch office or relocate our headquarters to Singapore. We were considering doing that last year but since we didn’t have any operations here, we decided not to.”
Ookbee received funding from INTOUCH last year and has been aggressive exploring opportunities outside of its Thailand home. The company also recently signed a partnership with e-publishing platform SCOOP.
Singapore Press Holdings was incorporated in 1984. In Singapore, the company publishes 18 newspaper titles in four languages with a readership of around 2.92 million. SPH also publishes and produces more than 100 magazine titles in Singapore and Southeast Asia, with titles covering interests from lifestyle to information technology.
