RedMart hires Perx Founder Jon Sugihara

Sugihara will be responsible for the vision, creation and management of all new products and report directly to Roger Egan, RedMart’s CEO

RedMart.com, a Singapore­ based online grocer, has appointed Jon Sugihara as the Head of New Products. Sugihara will be responsible for the vision, creation and management of all new products at RedMart, and will report directly to RedMart’s CEO, Roger Egan.

He was previously the Founder and Co-­CEO of Perx, a Singapore mobile CRM and marketing automation  company backed by Facebook Co-Founder Eduardo Saverin, where he managed the product and technology and where he will remain as Chairman of the Board.

“Truly great product leaders are hard to come by in this region. We are extremely grateful to have such an experienced entrepreneur lead the development of our new products and delight our customers. We have a lot to learn from Jon and we are very excited to work with him,” said Roger Egan, RedMart’s Co-­founder and CEO.

Prior to Perx, Sugihara managed the product at SiteSpect, a multivariate testing platform used by Walmart.com, diapers.com, Trulia and other top­tier consumer websites. He also has relevant experience as Product Manager at Skyhook Wireless, where he created a driver management system to manage hundreds of drivers as they drove millions of miles to scan WiFi and 3G signals around the world.

On joining RedMart, Sugihara said, “RedMart is in a position to become one of the largest e-­commerce companies in the region and I want to be a part of that. With the new products that they have tasked me to help them build, I am very excited for the next stage of the company’s growth.”

Sugihara will be educating startups on how to execute their business in the early stages. He will also be working with local VCs as a Venture Partner to help identify promising startups.
