EchelonTH

This year’s Echelon was a blast! Held just last month at Max Atria of Singapore Expo, Echelon 2014 saw the who’s who of the tech startup ecosystem of Asia gather for two days of brilliant keynotes, panel discussions, exhibitions and the ever so important networking.

The Launchpad saw 10 startups from all over Asia-Pacific pitch, with Thailand-based Taamkru winning ‘The Most Promising Startup’ award.

Seeing the great potential of many Thai startups during Echelon, as well as the overwhelming response and sheer talent and potential of founders both, Thai and otherwise, we at e27 feel that the time is ripe to take our Echelon Ignite conference in Thailand up a notch to a fully-fledged Echelon Thailand for the current year.

According to Echelon winner Taamkru’s CEO, Wicharn Manawanitjarern, Thailand boasts a rapidly growing mobile population, which has enabled Taamkru to increase its userbase by over 30 per cent every month. In his thanksgiving article, he also noted the strength of Thai innovation communities like Disrupt University in assisting local startups to grow and scale.

What will Echelon Thailand 2014 bring to the table?

Satellites across the country and exposure galore
Where last year Thai startups participated in a side pitching session to Global Brain Inc. for investment opportunities, this year we’ve recognised the fact that startups evolve and have a constant need for media exposure on top of fund raising needs.

Thus, for Echelon Thailand, we are changing the pitching format to allow startups that have participated in previous Echelon platforms to apply and pitch on the same stage again. To sign up for Echelon Thailand, all you need to do is:

The shortlisted startups will be notified by August 1, and they will have to pitch to a panel of judges in selected Satellite cities of Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. Subsequently, 15 startups will be chosen to exhibit at the main Echelon Thailand event – scheduled for August 2014 – of which the top five will pitch again at the event for the title of ‘The Most Promising Startup’.

Learnings from industry leaders
The main Echelon Thailand event will comprise two full days of exciting conferences focussing on Thailand, pitching startups, and workshops geared towards how firms can accelerate growth in Thailand and beyond.

So, what are you waiting for? If you’re a startup looking for funding, media exposure, or market access to Thailand, sign up now and get a chance to meet awesome investors and technology industry leaders!

See you at Echelon Thailand soon!
