Startup founders looking for an accelerator programme to help bring your startup from ideation to fruition, Founder Institute Singapore is calling for you. Whether you are thinking to launch a new technology company or running a startup that’s less than a couple years old, Founder Institute, has a growing number of mentors and partners which can help you build a world class technology company from Singapore.
Who can apply? The Institute supports Founders in a wide range of industries, including digital media, software, biotech, cleantech, ecommerce, advertising, consumer electronics, and the internet. What’s good about the program is that the sessions are held in the evenings and you do not need to quit your job, if you have one.
The programme has graduated 52 companies with 59 founder graduates from Singapore so far, 13 of which was from its recent fall 2011 class. According to Daylon Soh, founder of CuriousCore and a recent graduate, he says that: “The biggest takeaway from Founder Institute is not what I’ve learnt from the exemplary roster of mentors or the intelligent peers I’ve had the privilege of knowing. The biggest takeaway is earning the entrepreneur’s acumen, the ability to make sound business decisions and judge the quality of business ideas. It’s an instinct that can only be honed through experience.”
Maria Kuvshinova, cofounder of EvenPanda and also a recent graduate, mentioned in her testimonial:” The four month program of Founder Institute requires you to explore your true passions before you can start with the real work. The anxiety of performance is overwhelming. But the long ideation phase of your startup is not all pain – once you found what drives you, it inspires and energizes you and progress becomes exponential. To me, this is one of the most valuable things a good incubator can provide. But when you enroll for Founder Institute, you need to understand that there is absolutely no baby sitting and everything depends on how proactive and serious you are.”
So if you are thinking about joining the world largest incubator program, which has graduated about 415 startups worldwide in less than three years, do apply now to the Founder Institute programme. With the provision of a subsidy approved by Spring Singapore, Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents will only need to pay subsidized course fees of S$600. Additionally, Founder Institute Singapore will also be giving out between five to eight scholarships to five foreign applicants who are accepted, worth S$500 per accepted founder.
