Update: As part of the ACE’s Feed the Founder Programme, SPRING Singapore is kind enough to sponsor pizzas to our attendees.
Josh Schwartzman and Joe Mellin of nReduce will be in town on the 28th August to meet and network with entrepreneurs.
Cofounders of a new form of online startup incubator called nReduce, Josh Schwartzman and Joe Mellin are currently doing a world tour to visit startups that are in their nReduce online incubator.
As part of the world tour, they will be stopping by Singapore to meet and network with entrepreneurs. Prior to nReduce, Josh was involved in StartupBus, and cofounded Pintrips and FlyByMiles, while Joe cofounded Proven.com and was involved in a handful of other ventures.
nReduce is basically a system of accountability and a community that provides feedback and support. Once you are in the network, nReduce requires everyone to file weekly video updates which can be shared with the team, advisors, and mentors. Startups can also connect with other startups in the system which can peer-to-peer mentor. This ensures that startups actually keep shipping updates every week.
The two-month-old online startup incubator have amassed more than 200 startups actively participating from around the world. PandoDaily also featured them and called them the Pre-AngelList. The goal of nReduce is to improve the way every startup in the world executes on their idea. To see startups as the embodiment of hope and the ability of an individual to change the world. And thereby, building nReduce to make these courageous people better at what they do.
How it differentiates from other incubators is that with nReduce, everyone can be incubated. The registration for nReduce is free to founders and once you join the network, you can have access to the other startup founders in the network. If you complete the mentorship requirements you can also contact the mentors on the nReduce mentor list. The team also revealed to PandoDaily that because it does not take any equity or money from the startups, it has that classic Valley approach of figuring out revenues later. “We think we have the potential to disrupt a lot of the industry like deal flow and due diligence,” Mellin says. “We’re going to collect a lot of data that is valuable.”
So Josh and Joe will be in town in Singapore and we will be hosting them over a networking mixer on the 28th of August. The J duo will share about: “A new global startup initiative: building a better company using collaboration.” The networking mixer will also see Josh and Joe sharing their experiences from building companies in Silicon Valley as well as help Singaporean startups get connected with the global startup community.
