About Company

Founded in 2016, Pillpresso is a multi award-winning healthcare startup supported by NUS Enterprise, Enterprise SG and Singtel. Our aim is to improve medication management from hospital to home.

Job Description

Pillpresso is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the team. This is a full-time position, or can be a long-term project (minimum 6 months engagement).
You’ll be working closely with the founders to build an innovative hardware & software IoT platform in digital medicine. The aim is to digitise medication management and track medication compliance for patients, caregivers and nurses alike – in home-care and hospital settings.

Your role is to develop and optimise the firmware and electrical design of the medication assistive device.
  • C/C++ Programming
  • Good proficiency in PCB design software, e.g. Altium, Eagle
  • Embedded systems debugging, e.g. RTOS or equivalent
  • SMD/SMT components, soldering and assembly

  • Electrical systems design and prototyping (microcontroller development with current experience in Raspi/Arduino platforms)
  • Python and Java is a plus.
  • Has applied Agile methodology in past EE projects

  • Past experience in prototyping and firmware is preferred.
  • Driven
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Proactive in sharing new ideas, or ways for improvement
  • Curious – you never stop learning. You stay up to date with the latest technologies to expand your skillset. Working on personal / open-source projects and active learning initiatives are a good sign of your passion to learn and solve problems.
  • We prefer someone who is able to provide technical leadership (e.g. set a technical product vision, show a mature and pragmatic approach when making technology choices)
  • Candidates are encouraged to submit their previous microcontroller-based projects.

  • We'd be delighted to bring in people who can grow into the role and grow with the startup. It is not expected that any single candidate would have expertise across all the areas outlined above. Hence please apply even if you are unsure that you meet all the criteria. If you are interested in the role and think it could be a fit, we'd like to hear from you.

  • The base salary also comes with an attractive equity component.

  • As we are still a small team, this is a great opportunity to join us and play a key role in defining the direction and technical strategy of our product while we continue to grow.
  • Develop an IoT, digital health solution to alleviate the manual work and burden behind medication sorting – a big problem among patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals globally
  • This is a new area that has never seen a solution rolled out on a significant scale in Singapore and in the region.
  • Enhance your skills with a multi-faceted role that cuts across healthcare, IoT, hardware and software.
  • Collegial start-up environment: We share the floor with other cool startups at The Hangar, NUS's incubator for startups!
