“Our aim is to facilitate the development of the Malaysian market by introducing local users and businesses with a simple, secure and convenient mobile payment experience through WeChat Pay. KK Super Mart is now the first chain store in Malaysia to accept WeChat Pay MY,” said Poshu Yeung, Vice President of Tencent International Business Group. Yeung added that the launch is also aligned with Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)’s move towards a cashless society.
WeChat Pay MY ensures that they have the BNM’s blessing to officially become one of the mobile payment tools available in the country.
