Indonesia-based online tour and activities marketplace Tripvisto today announced securing an undisclosed amount of funding from East Ventures.
According to an official statement, the startup plans to use the funds to build a stronger product and boost hiring efforts. The platform is slated for launch in a couple of weeks, read the same report.
At the moment, the team has a head count of five, including its three Co-founders. The firm intends to double its team in a few months’ time.
“Today’s travellers not only stay at good hotels when they’re travelling, the need to explore local experiences and try to do exciting activities has also increased,” said Bernadus Sumartok, CEO, Tripvisto.
In the region, there have been quite a number of similar marketplaces such as Voyagin, BeMyGuest and even Locaruu. In Indonesia, however, there does not seem to be a clear winner.
He further shared that the biggest challenge for the company right now is to curate and find a reliable local tour operator.
At the moment, Tripvisto is looking at “offering a wider and deeper set of tour packages” at an affordable price. Sumartok said, “We want to cover most tourism attractions with various choices based on interest in every destination. We (are) sure we can do it in the near future.”
Tripvisto.com is a provider of tour packages where users can find a wide range of tour packages both domestic and international .
