The first Philippines Satellite will be held this Thursday, 12 April, at MINT College. Witness seven startups pitch their product to secure a spot at Echelon 2012, Asia’s longest running web tech conference.
Fresh from the Indonesia Satellite in Jakarta, the e27 team have already caught the next flight out to Manila for the Philippines Satellite. With the strong impression left on us by the startups that pitched at the Indonesia Satellite, we are definitely looking forward to the seven startups selected to pitch at the Philippines Satellite.
Five local startup, one Malaysian and one from H0ng Kong. These tech entrepreneurs are all set to prove to our panel of judges that they have what it takes to be Asia’s best startup. The pitches will be judged by Mohan Belani of e27, Jay Fajardo of Roofcamp, Simone Brunozzi from Amazon Web Services, Ben Gillenwater from Research In Motion and Miguel Paraz who is a mobile consultant.
The seven startups in pitching order are:
1) Guestlist.ph – an online guest listing service and nightlife social networking site
2) Collabspot – an online project management tool based on Kanban boards
3) Bolooka – an e-commerce website generator
4) Payroll Hero - payroll generation in the cloud for web and mobile
5) Mobile9 – And open, local and social app store
6) Paybilis – Bill collection and payment service
7) Infinte.ly – a central hub for small business owners to manage their web presence
Other than the startup pitches, the Philippines Satellite will be a full day of information sharing sessions. Attendees will also get a chance to hear from Guyi Shen of Lobangclub, Ben Gillenwater of Research In Motion and Roshni Mahtani of LiveJournal sharing on the latest topics in the tech ecosystem.
