Akamai opens offices in Taiwan and Melbourne, appoints new country managers in Japan and Korea

These announcements means that leading cloud platform, Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM) can expand its improved service for customers in these regions and set its footprint within the Asia Pacific market. Up to date, Akamai has been serving over two dozen customers in Taiwan including Eva Airways and SNSplus, Inc. Not forgetting the Melbourne office which shows a very promising start in the company’s commitment to extend its presence in Australia in coming years.

That’s not all. Akamai is determined to strengthen its regional leadership team with recruitment of new country managers in Japan and Korea. Shinji Tokunaga, a substantial man with over ten years of executive leadership experience will lead sales, services and marketing in Japan. Meanwhile over in Korea, Jin-Woong Kim will manage Akamai Korea’s operation and business development strategies. He has over ten years of senior-level experience.

Shinji Tokunaga will lead all sales, services and marketing for Akamai in Japan.  With over ten years of executive leadership experience with multi-national companies including Novell Japan and Borland Japan, Mr.Tokunaga will head an established team in the region’s fastest growing market.

In Korea, Jin-Woong Kim has joined Akamai with over ten years of senior-level experience with global businesses such as Compuware Korea and IBM Korea.  In his new role, he will manage Akamai Korea’s operations and business development strategies.
