China-based search engine Baidu recently announced plans of incorporating Baidu Indonesia by the first quarter of 2014. It also launched products like Baidu PC Faster and Baidu Antivirus in the largest Southeast Asian country.
In less than five months, the company has garnered three million users for both products. Bao Jianlei, Managing Director, Baidu Indonesia, says, “It proves that the security becomes very important when surfing the internet.”
In response to the quick growth seen in Indonesia, Baidu is now developing Baidu Antivirus in local Bahasa Indonesia, which will be released in early 2014.
Bao shared, “Baidu will continue to develop products that suit the unique needs of our users in Indonesia. We will always try to ensure that everyone has access and surf the internet safely with fast PC operation with free of charge service from us.”
