In two weeks time, the Echelon journey for 100 startups will begin. We’re kicking off with the first Satellite of the Echelon 2013 timetable on 30 March 2013, and the first country to have the honor of hosting Echelon 2013′s first Satellite is.. Indonesia!
Satellites are the second phase of Echelon 2013, after the initial call for startups and before the main event on 4 & 5 June 2013. Two things happen at each Satellite.
One: Startups that have been selected from the initial phase after a rigorous round of preliminary judging, are now faced with even more pressure of pitching directly and impressing local judges with their ideas, presentation skills and business acumen – all for a shot at being in the Final 10 to pitch to the region’s top investors, entrepreneurs, mentors, media and not forgetting their peers as well. This is also the stage where the organizers will see first-hand the quality of these startups, and invite them to exhibit at Echelon 2013′s Startup Marketplace
Two: It’s a tasting portion of the quality of content available at the main Echelon. Satellites typically focus on local trends and needs, so Satellites attract some of the best local speakers to share and connect with young businesses. We’ve been told attending Echelon has been a life-changing experience, and that’s what we hope for everyone who attends.
Sign yourself up for the Indonesia Satellite before places run out. We’ll see you there!
