Online venue booking site VenueHub looks for local partners regionally
VenueHub searches for partners in SEA, China, Japan, South Korea. Bart Medici of VenueHub Thailand shares more in an exclusive interviewBy Elaine Huang 17 Feb, 2014
Hong Kong- and Thailand-based online venue booking platform VenueHub today announced that it is looking for partners in Southeast Asia, China, Japan and South Korea.
In SEA, it is looking at Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia. According to the official statement, for a “very minimal investment”, VenueHub will provide partners with a fully-functioning platform.
The two localised sites are managed by partners on the ground; VenueHub.hk is managed by Eight52 International Limited, which is incorporated in Hong Kong, and has stakes in Venue Hub Co Ltd; and VenueHub.co.th is managed by VenueHub Co Ltd, which is incorporated in Bangkok, Thailand. Both websites are separate entities, and are said to be bootstrapped for now.
Bart Medici, Founder, VenueHub Thailand told e27, “We think there is a big market opportunity in both countries and in the region. That’s why we are looking for other partners to launch the website in other countries. Each website will be managed by a separate entity that will give shares of its business to Eight52 International Limited and VenueHub Co Ltd. Kind of a franchise if you want.”
VenueHub claimed that it has 150 venues on the Hong Kong website, and 40 on the Thai website. The sites are designed to help venue bookers discover spaces and register easily, and venue managers to generate sales leads. There is also an interactive 720° virtual tour of venues available on VenueHub.
Medici added that interested parties should contact him and Adam Whiting, Founder, VenueHub Hong Kong, via email (bart[at]venuehub[dot]co[dot]th) and (adam[at]venuehub[dot]hk).
