Philippine telco Smart joins hands with Deezer

The partnership will let Smart mobile users enjoy music streaming on the go, with access to millions of tracks

Philippine telco Smart Communications (Smart) has announced a strategic and exclusive partnership with global music streaming service Deezer.

This partnership will serve to bring the full breadth of music experience to mobile users in the country, through Deezer’s Premium+ service, said an official release.

Smart will soon announce affordable streaming rates and promotions with Deezer for both, prepaid and postpaid subscribers, letting them purchase a Deezer Premium+ subscription using only their accounts.

Mellissa Limcaoco, Innovation and Product Development Group Head, Smart said that this partnership with Deezer will allow Smart to grow from strength to strength. “We are excited to announce this pioneering partnership with Deezer, which will deliver even more exciting music experiences to our subscribers and enhance their mobile lifestyles on the go,” she said, “This strengthens Smart’s expanding suite of mobile content and application offerings that makes us a formidable player in the entire mobile ecosystem.”

Deezer’s Premium+ service will allow more than 72 million Smart mobile subscribers to enjoy unlimited web and mobile access to nearly 30 million high-quality music tracks online and offline, all without the interruption of ads. Deezer’s availability in more than 180 countries will also allow Smart users to listen to their favourite songs — whether they are in the Philippines or overseas, added the release.
