Thailand Tech Startup Association launched

How will this newly launched association help existing and budding entrepreneurs in starting up?

A group of Thai technopreneuers have today launched the Thailand Tech Startup Association. Registered on 23 May 2014, the association intends to unite the startup community in Thailand and help develop the tech sector in the country.

Leading the founding committee as Chairman is Patai Padungtin, who is also the CEO of Builk, the winner of the Echelon 2012 Launchpad Most Promising Startup Award.

Going forward, the association will conduct research and development for the Thai startup ecosystem, represent the country on behalf of the community, come up with startup-friendly initiatives and policies, and work with corporates and the government to grow the startup scene.

Padungtin noted, via an official release, “I strongly believe that we must not be Silicon Valley like others, but we can unite to form our own Startup Thailand as our core strength.”

One of the members, Vachara Aemavat, CEO, Computerlogy, added that there will be a guideline on how other startup founders or budding entrepreneurs can join the association soon.
