Strong representatives from 500 Startups in the form of Krating Poonpol and Moo Natavudh will be at Echelon Thailand 2015. Both Poonpol and Natavudh are often cited as the ‘Godfathers’ of the Thai ecosystem and will be representing the Thai arm of 500 Startups, 500 TukTuks.

At Echelon Thailand 2015, taking place on November 26-27 in Bangkok, Poonpol will be speaking on ‘Embracing The Early Adopter Culture in Southeast Asia’ in a Fireside Chat hosted by one of e27’s own. Natavudh will be the specialist on e-commerce and publishing in a panel discussion of ‘How Technology is Revolutionising Consumer Lifestyle’.

We caught up with both Poonpol and Natavudh amidst their busy schedules to find out what they are looking forward to at Echelon Thailand 2015 and why they chose it as a platform for their key announcement.

Here are the edited excerpts:

What are the both of you looking to achieve at Echelon Thailand 2015?

Thailand’s startup ecosystem is still considered to be a newborn baby, and at Echelon Thailand, 500 TukTuks wants to let the whole of Southeast Asia know that we are trying hard to push this ecosystem forward by providing financial support and Silicon Valley’s education to Thai startups. We’ve already raised US$9 million and still going strong. We look forward to meeting more Thai startups because we’ve got the funds ready — waiting to be injected into promising Thai startups.

We are keen on marketplaces, e-commerce and SaaS platforms but open to more possibilities.

Why use Echelon Thailand as a platform for this announcement?
