Cyberport’s annual tech investment flagship event, the Cyberport Venture Capital Forum (CVCF), will return on 8 – 9 November. Under the theme “Driving Next Wave of Tech Investment”, the CVCF provides a unique platform for investor icons, industry professionals and start-up founders to share insights on the technology investment trends on FinTech, Artificial Intelligence/Big Data, Blockchain and Smart City/Living, as well as the latest tech developments along the Digital Silk Road, in Mainland China and the Greater Bay Area. A not-to-be-missed event for investors and entrepreneurs in the digital technology domain, CVCF connects influential investors and start-ups to facilitate investment matching and business collaboration opportunities.
At this year’s CVCF, Cyberport will partner with TechNode, the leading technology media in Mainland China, to debut the world-renowned TechCrunch event in Hong Kong. The CVCF x TechCrunch thematic session will invite leading venture capitalists from Mainland China and specifically the Greater Bay Area to share the latest trends and fundraising strategies in the region. In addition, the Cyberport Investors Network (CIN), launched at last year’s forum, will celebrate its first anniversary with an announcement on its investment achievements in the past year.
As a cradle for innovative technology, Cyberport is committed to cultivating the venture capital and tech investment ecosystem for digital technology in Hong Kong. Over 30 distinguished speakers from renowned venture capital firms, accelerators and start-ups, including Founders Fund, Baidu Capital, 500 Startups, Techstars, OurCrowd, Silverlink Capital, China Growth Capital, PingAn Technology, Xiaomi, Face++, WeLab, TNG and more will join CVCF, taking a deep dive into trending topics including the shifting dynamics of tech investment ecosystems, the blockchain and digital currency opportunities along the Digital Silk Road, the Artificial Intelligence revolution, the impact of Sino-US trade tensions on technology venturing, how FinTech start-ups could scale up, and investor-investee dialogues. The forum will also feature investor and start-up workshops, guiding novice investors to create long-term returns and advising start-up founders to strategise fundraising efforts respectively.
CVCF will debut the renowned start-up flagship event, TechCrunch, in Hong Kong with the CVCF x TechCrunch thematic session, shedding light on the venture capital scene in Mainland China and the Greater Bay Area. Dr. Jenny Wu, Founding and Managing Partner of Baidu Capital, will take an in-depth look into the new opportunities brought by the maturing internet ecosystem, while other leading panellists will introduce the top innovations sought by Mainland investors. The CVCF will feature another keynote session hosted by Mr. Jeff Lonsdale, Managing Director of Founders Fund Asia, who will analyse Asia’s digital technology ecosystem and investment trends, benchmarking Silicon Valley, China and Southeast Asia with regard to the leading technology sectors and high-growth markets. In addition, over 30 Cyberport start-ups will deliver their power pitches as well as showcase their innovative digital technology solutions in the showcase area. The forum will also host an investor matching session to facilitate deal flow opportunities between investors and start-ups.
Riding on last year’s success with over 500 participants and 150 deal flows, the CVCF is a not-to-be-missed investment event that enables the greatest minds to meet, connects business partners and generates deal flows.
