Come down and join Geek Girls and General Assembly at The Working Capitol for a special 'Appy Hour. Geek Girls is bringing some of their members who have tried and tested their apps and just about come out the other side! Get the lowdown on what makes a killer app and get ready for discussions on app development and design. There will also be time for Q&A and libations, so come thirsty! ** UPDATED 11 April 2016 ** We are pleased to have confirmed some great speakers who will share their experience around building a mobile app: Cheryl Liew, former Android App developer at BuUuk, now running her own start-up (Thinges) will be walking us through the basics of building a killer mobile app. Waki Yoneoka, who built from scratch her own photo sharing app (Memom) will talk about the challenges she faced around the outsourcing of the development of her app to a team in India. Jane Boag, who built an app that aims to support cancer fighters and survivors around the globe (BigC-Connect) on the side of her full time corporate job at Google will talk about the challenges she faced when trying to gain traction. Siân Ng is a UX designer from the General Assembly UX Design Immersive course. She’s been a lawyer, an accountant and, most recently, a marketing manager for a Fortune 500 company. She’s experienced in innovation through design thinking, and lean startup methodology. She will be talking about the importance of integrating mobile UX in app design.
