We’re excited to have Karl Mak, Co-Founder of SGAG, join us for an exclusive sharing session on SGAG at GA Singapore. Karl will share candid insights into SGAG’s journey, what it takes to reach an audience, what drives their brand today and what is next for the brand. Afterwards, we'll open up the floor for questions, networking and drinks.

About the Speakers

Karl Mak
Co-Founder & Business Director,
SGAG
Karl is the co-founder and business director at SGAG. Karl’s key responsibilities at SGAG is to oversee the business growth in local and international markets as well as to spearhead the formation of strategic partnerships and new growth platforms for the company. His has also played a key role in leading the transformation of SGAG into a media company with strong partnerships with top agencies and brands in Singapore. Outside of his role at SGAG, Karl advises on the board of various private and non profit organisations. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science (Economics) from the Singapore Management University in 2013.

Juan Foo
U Creative
Juan is a producer, educator and activist. He is part of U Creative, which outreaches and develops career progression programmes across the creative media industry. He has worked in government organisations in talent development, content assessment, and media CET Training. As a film producer, he is candidly regarded as the filmmaker who is ‘still around’ doing independent work. Juan also lectures in filmmaking and producing at tertiary institutions and private organisations. He is also a frequent jury member and speaker at film-related activities.

A pioneer of film education, motion picture content development and creative producing, Juan started out freelancing as production crew and then moved to producing tele-movies and features. Other past professional experiences include being a video editor, journalist, a script coverage-reader and distribution assistant for a film finance company. He also developed and sold a movie project to a Hollywood studio.

Juan was involved in Singapore’s pioneering independent features such as The Road Less Travelled, Return to Pontianak, Dirty Laundry and Perth. He was also trained in traditional cel animation and worked in Japanese animation.
