Grab releases programme to fight fake orders – Press Release

Southeast Asian ride-hailing giant Grab on Wednesday launched the Grab Lawan Opik! programme, an initiative to fight against fake orders and protect drivers.

The launch of the programme followed the arrest of a number of criminals who had made attempts to access the Grab driver app and run fake order operations using fake GPS. The trick is known locally as “tuyul.”

The programme utilises machine learning algorithms developed by Grab’s R&D centres. Once the perpetrators are identified, the company is going to collaborate with the police to crack and arrest them. It is also encourages drivers to report any fraud actions.

Blibli launches apartment rental channel – DailySocial

Djarum-backed e-commerce platform Blibli announced the launch of its apartment rental channel, available on the Home & Living section on its desktop site and mobile app.

Users are able to search for apartments in the platform, contact property agents for appointments, and do transaction using Blibli InStore app, the mobile app that Blibli launched to facilitate offline transactions (cash-on-delivery).

The new feature is launched in partnership with property agency Jendela360.

Investree launches sharia-based P2P lending programme – DailySocial

Peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform Investree on Tuesday officially launched a sharia-based P2P lending programme.

The programme has been tested since November 2017. The startup claied that by January it has managed to channel IDR2.7 billion (US$200,000) worth of loan from 1,340 lenders to 313 borrowers.

Investree CEO and Co-Founder Adrian Gunadi also stated that the company is working together with Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the National Sharia Council to develop a fatwa on sharia-based fintech services.

Tokopedia introduces user loyalty programme TokoPoints – Press Release

Indonesian e-commerce platform Tokopedia on Tuesday launches TokoPoints, a user loyalty programme that allows users to get points for every transaction they make in the platform. The points can be exchanged with various prizes from free shipment fee to cashback.

The startup is currently working on developing more rewards for TokoPoints users.
