Welcome to 2014! Loyal followers of e27, of which you, dear reader, are undoubtedly part of, would have noticed that we set up our jobs portal back in September. Thanks to your support, we have since then gotten 249 jobs from 133 companies!

Last year, we strived to provide you with the hottest tech jobs every week. This year, though, we will be coming out with a new format wherein every week we will have a theme behind the jobs that we will promote. As we are only in the second week of 2014, what better way to lead the year than with a list of jobs that embody the spirit of leadership!

Without further ado, let us take a look at the three startups – all from Singapore – who are all looking for leaders to help chart their path to growth.

CatchThatBus is looking for a Director of Engineering (Singapore)
CatchThatBus, a tech-based travel company, with its online platform and mobile app lets users book and purchase express or inter-city bus tickets at the click of a button. Growing fast in Malaysia and Singapore, it has plans to expand to Southeast Asia within the next 18 to 24 months.

To fuel this growth, CatchThatBus needs a Director of Engineering to provide technological vision and product direction. The ideal candidate should possess six to eight years’ experience in back-end web architecture, particularly in server-side Java, web services (SOAP, REST), relational/non-relational databases and mobile environments. Also, he/she should be a passionate, self-driven and fearless individual, wanting to build something awesome and share it with the world.

Healint needs a Founder, a Head Geek (Singapore)
Healint has a grand vision – to bring wild innovation into the more controlled world of healthcare and pass it on to doctors and healthcare leaders. To bring this vision to life, Healint will take inspiration from video games and online advertising, and build a mobile-ready patient monitoring and healthcare analytics system.

The prospective Head Geek, who will be counted among the founders of Healint, needs to possess a strong background in object oriented (Java) language, software engineering, design patterns and agile methodology. The applicant should also demonstrate a track record of innovative problem solving and have good written/communication skills. Experience or interest in data analytics or sensors is a plus.

TR8DERS is seeking a CEO (Anywhere in Asia)
TR8DERS is a game that mimics financial trading, and is being developed as an app for both, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Through this game, players can get a taste of trading financial assets in real-time, with opportunities to speculate or “gamble” with real money.

TR8DERS’  undertaking will not be possible without a capable CEO to helm the company and lead it to growth. He or she would be the public face of TR8DERS for all present and future stakeholders. The potential CEO will need to hire and build capable technical, sales, support and admin teams, oversee the building and marketing of the product, lead TR8DERS to Series A funding, and liaise with regulators and lawyers as necessary.

Ideally, such a CEO should have experience or interest in startups, mobile gaming, financial trading, and be well-versed in the regulations for legalised gambling. However, TR8DERS encourages even those who do not fit all of the criteria to apply, as ultimately they are looking for someone who can “make it happen”.

Good luck with the job hunting!
