Zuckerberg, in his second visit to the country, is trying to deepen ties with the South Asian nation, which is home to the greatest number of Facebook users outside the US.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, California, in September.
Here are some of the extracts from his hour-long town hall with around 900 guests, mainly students of the technology institute.
None of the people who built big companies thought that they would be as big as they ended up being. So, my advice is focus on what you care about and not the decision to start a company.
I made all kinds of mistakes. Anything you can think of, I have made all the mistakes. It was all trial and error. You cannot be afraid of making mistakes. What you should focus on is not which mistake to avoid…
But you should focus on what drives you. Focus not on the mistakes, but on as much good as you can.
Technology enables people to have supernatural powers. What we are working on with Oculus is that we are allowing people to teleport.
We are working on a project where AI (artificial intelligence) can describe photos to blind people. In five to 10 years, we (Facebook) want to build computers that have basic human senses better than humans.

There are three reasons why people don’t have access: Availability, affordability and — the biggest — awareness.
The first thing I say is that we can look at the efforts we have had with Internet.org. It is live in 24 countries in the world and growing.
There are 15 million people in the world who have access to the Internet because of the efforts of Internet.org. That’s a pretty good impact
People think we are trying to restrict the access to the whole Internet. That is far from the truth. Providing free access to the whole Internet is costly, so we’re trying to provide free basics.

India is the largest democracy. You cannot connect the world without connecting India
India also has so many users on Facebook and WhatsApp, which is also part of our community. So, they are part of the people we want to connect.
It still has so many people without Internet access. Internet can provide, education, health information and access to job listings.
The research has shown that for every 10 people who get access to the Internet, one new job is created and one person is lifted out of poverty. India has tremendous potential for that.
Connecting people in India is one of the most important things we can do for the world.
