Global seed-stage startup competition Seedstars World on Saturday announced Sayurbox as the winner of its Indonesian chapter Seedstars Jakarta.
Sayurbox is a platform that enables customers to purchase fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables directly from the farmers. The service delivers the produce five times a week to customers in Greater Jakarta Area and South Tangerang.
The company is set to represent Indonesia at the Seedstars Asia Regional Summit in Bangkok this November and the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland in April 2018, to compete for the chance to win US$1 million equity investment.
The competition also named logistic aggregator platform Shipper as the second place and lockscreen ad platform AyoSlide as third place winners.
The winners were chosen by a panel of judges that consist of Venkat Narayan (Partner at Aavishkaar), Michael Weber (Partner at Seedstars), David Soukhasing (Head/Director at ANGIN), Thomas Diong (Former Chief Product and Data Officer at Sale Stock), Aulia Masna (Strategy Director for the 1000 Digital Startups National Movement at Kibar), and Raditya Pramana (Investment Manager at Venturra Capital).
They took part in a five minute pitching session followed by a five minute question-and-answer (Q&A) session.
Seedstars Jakarta announced a total of eight startups as finalists in this year’s competition.
Seedstars Jakarta co-organises the event with startup ecosystem builder Kibar, with support from the Angel Investor Network Indonesia (ANGIN), Kulina, and Gaharu Activation.
