He’ll go over what packages and build plugins are in general and what are the challenges and pitfalls that he had faced when developing tap-i18n.
Build plugins are plugins like CoffeeScript and Less css that process Meteor projects files into the raw js and css that is later served to the client.
You can use the build plugin mechanism to develop sophisticated DSLs (domain specific languages) that deal with the specific problem your project has to face in a very efficient, clean and easy to use way.
In this lecture Daniel will describe Meteor’s build plugins mechanism which is currently undocumented, sometimes not even at the code level.
The lecture is planned to take 45 minutes. This is the first lecture ever given on the build plugin mechanism.
