Singapore-based B2B travel startup BeMyGuest has announced that Co-founder and CEO Clement Wong, who led the company for nearly seven years, is stepping down from the firm.
In a LinkedIn post, Wong said that he will now devote more time to his family, contribute back to the startup community as well as get involved in charity.
Blanca Menchaca, who joined BeMyGuest as Co-founder and COO in 2013, will now helm the company.
“I’m delighted and honoured to be given this opportunity,” said Menchaca, in a press statement.
“Surrounded by our skilled team of professionals, I’m completely confident that the adoption of the technology we have designed to power the attractions, tour and activities sector in Asia is trending towards a pivotal stage of our business,” she added.
The INSEAD graduate was formerly an online publishing manager at ASX-listed digital global marketing services firm Enero Group. Menchaca was also the VP of performance marketing at travel search site Wego.com for three years before switching over to BeMyGuest.
Founded in 2012, BeMyGuest aggregates attraction, tour and activity products from travel suppliers, then connects them to distribution partners such as Ctrip, Ticket Monster, Tink Labs, Yatra, Tuniu, Alitrip and Travel.jp.
Last year, the company said it had over 4,500 suppliers, 25,000 activities in over 900 locations on its platform.
BeMyGuest also has a B2B platform that allows suppliers and resellers to purchase various APIs from the company. It includes inventory push API, multilingual pull API, full white-label solutions, a B2B agents marketplace, instant confirmation, e-tickets, and a revenue management system.
BeMyGuest has raised over US$8.5 million to date. Its notable investors include Singaporean businessman and tech investor Koh Boon Hwee and Raffles Venture Partners.
In February 2016 BeMyGuest became the first Singaporean company to be named to the ‘Top 50 Most Innovative Companies” list on Fast Company.
