About
Currently relocating Aquifer (now Aquifer Labs) to Singapore, where I will be continuing discussions with potential equity partners and with those within the bluetech & VC ecosystems. Prior to this I was based in Hong Kong, with a primary focus on advising the startup ecosystem in the Greater China region, with emphasis on acting as a Strategic Consultant for Cleantech, Bluetech, and High Tech startups. I have also been a regular speaker at Cleantech and startup events in both HK and China. Having the opportunity to drive innovation within Bluetech (water technology) as APWS VP of Business Development overseeing product development and assembly in China, I continued with a Bluetech focus as a strategy advisor to Everest Water (2011) and Altair Water (2012), both innovative water technology companies in their own right. As a seasoned executive with product development, business development and management experience, and based on my investment banking experience (in combination with being a dyed in the wool Silicon Valley Entrepreneur), I am always eager to assist with fundraising, trade sales, M&A and general business evaluations. Previously while at Gramercy, I took on the role of Managing Partner for US operations for Gramercy Private Equity (GPE), and in 2007 moved to Beijing to become the Managing Partner for China. My passion and insight into technology and ability to predict trends resulted in my being invited to be a part-time writer/editor for Gizmag Magazine (http://www.gizmag.com/author/dave-weinstein). Prior to joining GPE I was VP of Business Development for Visto Corporation (now renamed as Good Technology, http://www.good.com, Mountain View, CA), a leading mobile messaging and synchronization software provider. Prior to Visto, I founded and was Chairman and VP of Product Marketing for netdrive.com, an innovative online storage provider, which was sold to Visto in 2000.
