Leading the initiative for women professionals in mobile and digital media to step forward for this opportunity is Smaato Singapore, a US based mobile ad optimiser and mobile advertising platform. Smaato is among the list of supporting companies behind the Women in Wireless organization which also includes Celtra, ESPN Mobile, Jumptap and NexAge.
Marcus Tan, Managing Director of Smaato’s Asia Pacific Operations was host of the ‘Women in Wireless Emerging Chapter’ mixer held at Smaato’s office last Tuesday evening. Acknowledging the traditional dominance of men within the mobile and wireless technology industry, he urges interested women to step forward and take on the challenge. Citing the illustrious example of Jerri Devard, Chief Marketing Officer, Nokia as well as a prominent member of the Women in Wireless community, Marcus believes that the coming together of like-minded women professionals to connect and work together will serve as an impetus to realizing the organization’s mission. Women in Wireless aims to promote and develop female leaders in mobile and digital media.
To kickstart chapter operations this coming quarter, Women in Wireless Singapore Chapter Coordinator, Adeline Koh, who is also the Marketing & PR Lead for Asia Pacific at Smaato Singapore, unveils that plans to work together with existing women in technology communities here like Girls-in-Tech Singapore organization are underway.
